There are hundreds of airports in Europe. However, not all Europe airports have regularly scheduled flights. In fact, some small nations have no regularly scheduled passenger services so the links in those cases go to the nearest major airport instead (examples: Andorra, Liechtenstein, Vatican, and San Marino).

Some regional airports are only served by small "discount" airlines which do not make their fares available to major travel web sites. A good example is the Faeroe Islands, where you would be best served by flying from a European city using Atlantic Airways web site http://www.atlantic.fo/ and booking a "ticketless ticket" directly online. Similarly, Greenland is best served searching flights from Copenhagen to a Greenland destination at http://www.airgreenland.gl/ or flights from the Reykjavik municipal airport (RKV) using Air Iceland http://www.airiceland.is/.

Europe is one of the seven traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bound to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains, the Ural river, and by the Caspian Sea.

Due to sociopolitical and cultural differences, there are various descriptions of Europe's boundary; in some sources, some territories are not included in Europe, while other sources include them. For instance, geographers from Russia and other post-Soviet states generally include the Urals in Europe while including Caucasia in Asia.

In another usage, Europe is increasingly being used as a short-form for the European Union (EU) and its members. (airports)
